The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will host its 13th Annual Art & Soup event to benefit the Shelter Nursing Program on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Convention Center, located at 72nd and Grover Streets in Omaha, NE.

Artwork will include both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art along with wearable art and live artist demonstrations. Wonderful smooth jazz performed by Higher Pursuit, desserts and coffee will also be on hand for guests to enjoy.

I wanted to let you know that my band Higher Pursuit is having two very special performances this week. Thursday, December 17th at 6:30pm, we are playing at the Ozone at Anthony’s Steakhouse (72nd & F), and Saturday, December 19th at 6:30pm we are playing at the Prestige Lounge (168th & Pacific) for a Special Christmas Performance to support the Open Door Mission.

Your attendance at Saturday’s performance at the Prestige Lounge (168th & Pacific) is very important because we are asking everyone to bring a brand new toy for the children who find themselves at the Open Door Mission during the holiday season. The Open Door Mission will have a booth there should you have any questions regarding their ministry.

If you cannot make the Saturday event and want to provide a gift for the children at the Open Door Mission, please feel free to bring it to the Ozone tonight and we’ll forward it on.

These two performances will be our last of the year so I hope to see you at least at one of them. Remember, the food is great, the music is great and you can dance your socks off.
